
Auburndale Communications Academy
Required Courses
To graduate from the Academy, students must complete the academy core courses:
- Computing for College and Careers: This course is designed to provide a basic overview of current business and information systems and trends to introduce students to the basic skills and foundations required for today’s business environment. Emphasis is placed on developing proficiency with touch keyboarding and
- Electronics Tech I: An introductory course designed to give an overview of the policies and procedures of cable installation. This will include coursework that will prepare students to successfully complete beginning NCTI coursework leading to BPS certification.
- Electronics Tech II: This course is designed to give ongoing instruction in the policies and procedures of cable installation. This will include continuing coursework through NCTI and at course end students will be expected to complete certification exams and receive BPS certification.
- Communications Systems & Home Technology Systems: These courses will continue the intensive training in cable installation and home entertainment systems installation through ongoing coursework with NCTI. At course completion students will be expected to complete certification exams and receive BDS certification.
