Sports Medicine Academy Overview
Do you want to stay in the game even though you don’t play sports? Do you enjoy fitness? This is the academy for you!
Kathleen High School’s Sports Medicine academy is a multi-year program. Upon completion, students will be eligible for necessary certifications for employment or continued education in sports medicine.
Students will learn the skills to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, aiding in creating a plan for rehabilitation and designing fitness programs. They will be provided the opportunity to help work community events and complete clinical experiences within the industry.

- Sports Medicine: The Kathleen High School Sports Medicine Academy allows students to explore the careers that are available to them in the world of sports. Students will be exposed to and able to practice skills involved in the areas of Athletic Training, Personal Training, Strength and Conditioning, Physical Therapy, Sports Management and Orthopedics.
- Earn a Scholarship: Qualified students are eligible to receive the Gold Seal Scholarship which may pay a significant percentage of tuition and fees to Florida public colleges and universities.
- Earn Certification: Industry certification proves to employers that you have the skills they need and gives you a leg up on the competition.
- Participate in HOSA: Health Occupations Students of America is a student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare field. Students in the Sports Medicine Academy have the opportunity to compete at the local, state and national levels in over 65 challenging events.
