Opportunities for Graduates
After Graduating from LHS with completed coursework and industry certifications from the IT Academy, students can directly enter the workforce or continue their education by studying at a college, university or specialized training institute.
College Bound
If a student chooses to attend a college or university, the knowledge and experiences gained through IT classes will assist them in future college classes. Many of the LHS IT classes actually earn college credit. This will save students time and money with the classes they will not need to take in the future.
Work Through School
Some IT Academy graduates will choose to work their way through a post-secondary education. By using the skills learned in the IT Academy it is possible to gain part-time employment while they study. Rather than earning minimum wage in a job not related to their chosen career field, they can earn more money through working in a job that relates to their IT Academy training and to the degree they are seeking. Students will be able to earn more money and gain more job related experiences while attending a post-secondary institute.
Straight to Work
The certifications earned through the IT Academy at LHS are nationally recognized by industry. This means big business values the certifications earned here at the IT Academy. Employers will know that students' skills match the standards they are looking for. Therefore, certifications will qualify graduates for better-paying jobs than if they had only a standard diploma.
