What is the WE3 Expo?

Local  business and industry professionals have partnered with Polk County Schools' Workforce Education Department to create the WE3 Expo.  This collaborative effort will allow middle schools and high schools to highlight Polk Career Academies and workforce program offerings throughout the county.

Teachers and students will be on hand to demonstrate and discuss preparation for careers in the new millennium. WE3 will feature more than 200 booths. These students are the next generation of Polk County workers and you will have the opportunity to interact with them. Anticipation of this event is growing and we expect that it will benefit the community greatly.

This is a time to explore your options and ask questions. Academies also provide a choice in education. Students are able to transfer to an academy that appeals to their career interest. Many Polk Career Academies allow students to earn college credit while in high school and qualify for the Gold Seal scholarship (part of the Bright Futures program). Internship and industry certification opportunities are also available.
